Algemeen Gebruik
Accutane is een isotretinoïne medicijn dat wordt gebruikt voor de behandeling van ernstige huidziekten en enkele andere aandoeningen. De actieve ingrediënt is afgeleid van vitamine A en is normaal gesproken aanwezig in kleine hoeveelheden in het menselijk lichaam.
Bijwerkingen
Bijwerkingen van Accutane zijn zeldzaam, aangezien het medicijn bedoeld is voor langdurige behandeling. Het kan echter enkele van de volgende symptomen veroorzaken:
- Allergische reacties (soms ernstig) of huiduitslag
- Misselijkheid, obstipatie of diarree
- Sufheid, slaperigheid en hoofdpijn
Voorzorgsmaatregelen
Om het risico op bijwerkingen te verminderen, is het noodzakelijk dat uw arts de behandeling met Accutane goedkeurt als u:
- allergisch bent voor voedsel, medicijnen of andere stoffen
- lijdt aan osteoporose, nierproblemen, leveraandoeningen of hartziekten
- botproblemen heeft
- diabetes heeft
- astma heeft
- momenteel receptplichtige medicijnen of niet-receptplichtige medicijnen gebruikt, antibiotica, steroïden (bijv. prednison), medicijnen die fenytoïne bevatten, vitamine A of medicijnen die vitamine A bevatten
- gevoelig bent voor een van de ingrediënten van Accutane
- zwanger bent, borstvoeding geeft of van plan bent om zwanger te worden
- een geschiedenis heeft van allergie voor Accutane of andere retinoïden
- Hartproblemen (onregelmatig of te snel)
- Duizeligheid
- Pijn op de borst of misselijkheid
