Ambien (Zolpidem) is a medication with a calming effect. It is a sleep-inducing drug that belongs to the group of imidazopyridines, functioning as a specific agonist. When used in therapeutic doses, it provides a calming effect without causing anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, or central muscle relaxant effects.
The use of this medication helps to shorten the time it takes to fall asleep, reduces the number of nightly awakenings, increases total sleep duration, and improves sleep quality. Indications
You should use Ambien (Zolpidem) by Hemofarm if you have sleep disorders, including difficulties with falling asleep.
Do Not Use If You Have:
- Chronic or severe acute liver failure
- Respiratory failure
- Sleep apnea (suspected or diagnosed)
- Hereditary lactose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome, or lactase deficiency (contains lactose)
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Age below 18 years
- Individual intolerance to the components of the drug
Dosage and Administration
Tablets should be taken orally, just before bedtime. A single dose is 10 mg. For elderly patients or those with impaired liver function, therapy should start with a 5 mg dose, which can be increased to 10 mg if the clinical effect is insufficient and the drug is well tolerated. The maximum dose is 10 mg per day.
